Dr. Dale Pittenger is a Knoxville native. After graduating from Webb School and attending the University

of the South in Sewanee, Tn, he achieved his degree in Psychology. Dale met his lovely wife Gina (now

also a dentist) at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, where he graduated with high honors.

Dr. Pittenger was chosen for a prestigious AEGD (Advance Education in General Dentistry) at Langley Air

Force base in 1994 where he studied advanced dental procedures and helped train and instruct other

dentists as an officer. He helped maintain a state of readiness for the combat base’s Air Transportable

Hospital and received the Air Force Commendation Medal. Since leaving the Air Force in 1997, he has

been an active leader in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

Dr. Gina Pittenger excelled in her skills in pediatric dentistry during her career and was heavily involved

in forensic dentistry. She was instrumental in opening a dental clinic in Valdosta Georgia for children of

low income families, offering care for children in an undeserved area.

Dale and Gina have practiced general dentistry together and apart for over 21 years, and have realized

their dream to return home to East Tennessee by purchasing a practice in Karns in 2015.

Dale and Gina enjoy hiking the Smokies, trips on the Harley, camping, gardening, golf and bee keeping.

They have also taken many international medical and dental mission trips. Most of all, they enjoy the

company of their two handsome sons, Chris and Nick (both Eagle Scouts), who attend the University of

Tennessee.
